We are very pleased to announce that we are able to serve wine and drinks in our restaurant until 10.30 pm.

We can host groups of up to six for meals or coffee, and two households can share our suites when staying overnight.

We will of course continue to do everything to keep our guests and staff safe so 1 metre rule and collecting contact details remains in place, alongside enhanced cleaning, sanitation points and the wearing of face covering when moving around the building.

ABOUT

Hotel accommodation is located in the old lighthouse keepers residence and the converted outbuilding. Providing a mix of rooms and larger self catering suites, Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel is ideal for special occasions and family gatherings with multiple communal areas inside and out. You can enjoy each other’s company whilst taking advantage of the unique location and excellent catering and facilities.

The historic Corsewall Lighthouse was built in 1815 by the engineer Grandfather of renowned Treasure Island author Robert Louis Stevenson, and is perched on the northern coast of the Rhinns of Galloway, near Stranraer. The A listed building is set in 20 acres of stunning coastal scenery and with its own ruined Iron Age fort, Dunskirkloch, on site. On a clear night the beams of several Scottish and Irish lighthouses can be seen guiding the ships across the North Channel. During the day you can explore local walks and look out for some of the local wildlife including deer, seals, dolphins, sea birds and if you're lucky, a rare sight of a sea otter.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be sure to take advantage of the five-course dinner using the best of Galloway's produce and accompanied by an extensive wine list and range of single malt whiskies from Scotland’s finest distilleries. Coffee and snacks are served during the day in the lounge or conservatory where you can relax with the stunning view of the Ayrshire Coast, Ailsa Craig and the isle of Arran.

Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel has recently been bought by new owners, John and Helen who live on site and enjoy welcoming regular guests and those discovering the magic of Corsewall for the first time. John is a professional photographer and always happy to advise on how to get the best from photographing the lighthouse and surrounding areas. Many of his pictures are available for sale throughout the hotel.

Sea fishing  is recommended from the rocky shoreline or by boat from Portpatrick. Golfers can enjoy a days play at Stranraer Golf Club or Dunskey Golf Club at Portpatrick. A day return visit to Belfast by Stena Line is available from Cairnryan.
