Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel in the North Rhinns of Galloway is ideal to explore Dumfries and Galloway and Ayrshire and is an excellent start or finish to VisitScotland. Sea fishing from the rocky shoreline or by boat from Portpatrick is recommended. Golfers can enjoy a days play at Stranraer Golf Club or Dunskey Golf Club at Portpatrick and the Championship Golf courses at Turnberry are all within easy reach. A day return visit to Belfast by Stenna Line is available from Stranraer.
Mull of Galloway Lighthouse and Killantringan Lighthouse are both a short drive from Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel. Nearby Galloway Forrest Park has international Dark Sky recognition as best Astronomy location in Europe. Bird watchers are frequent visitors to Corsewall. Bladnoch Distillery and the Book Town of Wigtown are only a short drive away. World famous Logan Botanical Gardens, Castle Kennedey Gardens, Dunskey Gardens and Glenwhan Gardens are well worth a visit. Culzean Castle, Grounds and Gardens run by the National Trust for Scotland makes an excellent day out. A day trip to the Ayrshire fishing ports of Maidens and Dunure and the seaside town of Ayr is highly recommended. Portpatrick, Port Logan, Port William and the Isle of Whithorn in the Machars are a short drive from Corsewall. Walkers enjoy some of the best trails in Scotland and the Southern Upland Way starts at nearby Portpatrick.
